Meet Our Director and Instructors

Sal Sedita

Sal has been in the real estate business since 1977, obtaining his Brokers license in 1982. Throughout his career, he has held positions as Sales Associate, Sales Manager, General Manager, and Training Director.

As a pre-licensing class instructor since 1986 and Director of the Delaware School of Real Estate since 1997, Sal has both taught and worked with thousands of agents over the years.

Sal was named the State of Delaware REALTOR® of the Year in 2000, inducted into the NCCBOR Hall of Fame in 2009, and received the NCCBOR Ethics Award in 2012.

MATH

Lori Darkow

Lori graduated from Ohio State University with a B.S. degree in Mathematics Education. She has experience teaching at the middle school, high school and college level. Lori previously held a Real Estate License in Mississippi before moving to Pennsylvania. She has been the math instructor for our pre-licensing course since 2014 and enjoys the challenge of making the math portion of our course as painless as possible for her students!
 
 

LAW

Bill Ward

Bill graduated from Emory University with a B.A. in history in 1978 and received his law degree from Duke University in 1981. He is a partner in the firm of Ward & Taylor, LLC, working primarily in the area of residential real estate. Bill has been an affiliate member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors for many years was awarded the Education Award by the Board in 1996, 2004, and 2009, and was inducted into the Board Hall of Fame in 2013 and is a frequent lecturer on real estate seminars and classes.

Nancy Walsh Law

Nancy earned her B.A. degree from the University of Delaware and her J.D. degree from the Dickinson School of Law. Nancy has taught real estate law with DSRE since 2014 and is a frequent lecturer on real estate issues at seminars and classes sponsored by the New Castle County Board of Realtors, Kent County Association of Realtors, Sussex County Association of Realtors and the Delaware Association of Realtors.
 

PRACTICES

Chris Cashman

Chris earned a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware and began his real estate career in 1989, joining Patterson-Schwartz in 1993. Chris has been the Sales Manager of the Newark Sales Center since 1997 and also manages the Cecil County, MD Sales Center that opened in 2005. Chris holds a real estate license in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania and currently serves on the Professional Standards Committee for the Cecil County Board of Realtors. Chris is a Lifetime Member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors Multimillion Dollar Club and the Realty Alliance for the past 14 years.

Joe Pluscht

Joe has been with Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate since 1986 and has acted in a number of capacities; starting as the CFO, Sales Manager, General Manager of Sales and Operations, and currently as President and CEO. Prior to joining Patterson-Schwartz, Joe was a CPA with an international accounting firm. Joe is a graduate of the University of Delaware and holds a B.S. in Accounting. Joe is a licensed real estate broker in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland and an active member of several local associations including the National Association of Realtors, Delaware Association of Realtors, New Castle County Board of Realtors, Cecil County Board of Realtors, and Suburban West Realtors (Chester County, PA).

Jason Giles

Jason started his real estate career with Patterson-Schwartz after graduating from Cabrini College in 1994. Jason has served as Assistant Manager of the Hockessin office, Sales Manager of the Wilmington Office, and Sales Manager of the Hockessin office from 2004 through 2013 before transitioning to Sales Manager of the Greenville office.  Currently, Jason is the Broker and Manager of the Patterson-Schwartz Coastal offices in Sussex County, DE.  Jason has served on the Board of Directors and numerous committees for the New Castl County Board of Realtors and the Delaware Association of Realtors, as well as being a current member of the Delaware Real Estate Commission.
